Boy Oh Boy!

This card was commissioned by a coworker who needed a baby card.  In my stash I only had baby girl cards in stock from the last time someone wanted a card, so I needed to set out and make one instead of relying on my stash!

I sketched this card before pulling out any supplies.  The theme needed to be overall a celebratory one, so i sketched in some banners and other bits and pieces like twine, to give it a "present" and "celebration" type of look.

Needing to use up some of the supplies from my most recent haul, I turned to the American Crafts Neapolitan paper pad. Corners were rounded first and mounted on white cardstock.  It didn't seem right - so I rounded the cards corners as well as penned in stitching lines.

The main accent piece or title was done with watercolors on watercolor paper.  My watercolors haven't been getting much love so I decided to make a custom piece in which to write this title.  The aqua and yelow blended really well to make a sunny sky with clouds!

Boy Oh Boy - Inside

Overall, I'm very pleased with how it came out.  If I were to change anything, it would probably be to pop up the front title piece on dimensional adhesive and leave the washi tape out.  However, the washi tape was new and I thought I would add a little "love" to the front of the card...

Because the inside is a bit snarky!  The fun really begins on the inside with a tongue and cheek sentiment "Let the Fun Begin!"  This was a perfect sentiment because the parents are FIRST TIME parents - the fun will really begin for them both in a rewarding sense and everything that comes with having a new baby.
