Happily Ever After - Wedding Card

Today's card comes from a card challenge from Scrapbox NZ's Blog over at Fiona's montly card challenge post.  This challenge if for a Wedding card - to celebrate someone's getting married.

I've done Wedding Cards before - but never like this!   My previous cards have never been uploaded because they were such simple affairs - white on black with grey paper, flat and once sided.  Usually passed around an office for heaps of signatures and needed to be less ornate to stand passing around and being signed heaps of times.

I really wanted to go all out with pearls, bling, and flowers.  I wanted this card to have a touch of elegance and really think it fits the bill.  I covered it in rhinestones and pearls, even the sentiment in the middle has a touch of elegance on shimmer paper.

Happily Ever After

"Happily Ever After" as it reads - and don't they look happy?  Bling and pearls everywhere on this card as it tries to capture the wedding theme.

This card was cut with the Silhouette Cameo.    Card base and filigree shape were downloaded from the Silhouette Online store - a shape by Samantha Walker.  I tried cutting this shape a few times without success - and it ATE my cardstock.  I had to load both a new mat and new blade to cut this shape cleanly.

Rose Detail

Shape was adhered to base with dry adhesive and spots of wet adhesive under the filigree portions.  Then, large sentiment was adhered down.  Roses were adhered with hot glue to give it a more luxury look.

After all of this - it still didn't look quite right.   More bling and pearls were added - as well as a swirl of generic bling from a sheet of "Craft Creations" swirls I recently picked up at Pete's Emporium (a dollar/discount store) with a huge craft section.

Inside Detail

Inside was stamped with simply "CONGRATULATIONS" and a bling ring stack above it from the same sheet of sentiments and embellishments as the main card image.  I wanted to incorporate this ring but did not have any room left over on the front - so it went inside the card instead.  I think having just one or the other would have seemed too stark and like how they offset each other and make it a more polished card.
